Music at Linworth

Chancel Choir - The choir sings weekly at the 8:45am Traditional Service and on occasion at the 11:30am service as well.  Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at 7:15pm in the Worship Center.  The choir is comprised of members ranging in age from High School through Adult and four section leaders. The choir prepares and performs a wide variety of choral arrangements throughout the year and presents special choral pieces during Advent, Lent, and on Music Sunday in June.  The Chancel Choir is always interested in adding members to the group and opportunities to join the choir for special performances are also provided.  Contact William Boggs.

Reverberation Ringers - The Bell Choir rehearses with director William Boggs on Thursdays at 6:15pm  in the Worship Center. They play approximately once a month at the 8:45am worship service and support special music at Christmas and Easter. There is a flexible rehearsal option so many ringers can be involved throughout the year, as their schedule permits. The Reverberation Ringers are always excited about adding members to the group, which include middle school age through adult. New Connections Worship Band - The purpose of the New Connections Worship Band is to lead the New Connections worship hour in celebration through music and singing.   We are a "ministry group" which spends time in devotion, prayer and care for one another each week. Our band is a simple, guitar-driven rock band with more complex vocal harmonies. We do not follow written music scores, but utilize lead sheets prepared by the band director for each song. Members spend some time practicing at home on their own and some time in-group rehearsals. Auditions for the band are open to anyone with facility on their instrument or voice. Instrumentalist will need their own instrument (including pickups in an acoustic guitar) and need to be able to follow a lead sheet (we can teach you). Vocalists will need to be able to carry their own harmony part. Prior experience is not required. Commitment levels vary from weekly to various rotations (for example, once a month). Each week of participation includes about 8 hours of personal practice prior to rehearsal, band rehearsals and worship time. Children's Choir - Elementary Age Children may participate in our Children's Choir program beginning in the Fall leading up to the annual Christmas Musical.   Rehearsals are held on Sunday mornings at 11:30am for one hour in room 208.  Our Children's Choir Director is Susie Boggs.  

Children's Handchimes - Grades 7 - 12 are invited to participate in this newly formed groups lead by Susie Boggs. The group meets on Sunday mornings at 11:30am in room 208 beginning in January.  No previous handchime experience is needed as they learn music for worship on Easter, Mother's Day and a Sunday in June.
