Children’s Ministry

Linworth United Methodist Church’s children’s ministry is dedicated to creating disciples for Jesus Christ.

Our Philosophy of Education

Jesus said, “Whoever welcomes a child, welcomes me.” All children are welcome at LUMC. It is our responsibility to share God’s love through the ministry to the children and families of the church. We believe that Christian Education will help guide and strengthen the relationship a child has with God. We will love and support the children of LUMC as they grow in their faith journey..

Sunday School Curriculum

Our nursery and toddler/twos classroom offers a safe and caring environment for your child during our worship services. There are age appropriate toys to explore and enough room for free play with friends. Sunday School curriculum begins with three year olds and continues through 6th grade. As a child grows through their Sunday School years, we will focus on Biblical learning that is age appropriate. Each child will learn the same Bible verses and stories as it applies to their grade level. The goal is for each child to be Biblically, socially, and spiritually prepared as they go into Confirmation and Youth Program at Linworth.

Sunday School classes are grouped by age or grade level. Teachers commit to a Sunday schedule so that there is consistency for the children. Sunday School teachers and childcare staff are required to complete an application/background process and be certified in Linworth’s Safe Sanctuary Training.

On the first Sunday of each month, the preschool-6th graders (9:00am Sunday school) and 4th-6th graders (10:30am Sunday school) attend the worship services with their families so they can receive Holy Communion. When there is a 5th Sunday in the month, it is called Family Worship Sunday. All families are encouraged to attend worship together. There are no Sunday school classes on Family Worship Sundays. Childcare is available for nursery-three years old during the worship services.
